The GTA VI trailer was released a few hours ahead of schedule, providing a nostalgic journey back to the days of Vice City. The game is scheduled for launch in 2025

It was an ordinary day for gamers worldwide until Rockstar Games decided to spring a massive surprise. The GTA VI trailer was unexpectedly dropped on YouTube more than 12 hours before its scheduled launch. As confirmed by Rockstar Games earlier, the GTA VI trailer was supposed to release at 7:30 pm IST on the same day.

However, much to everyone’s surprise, it was released in the early hours of Tuesday due to an online leak before the official launch. In a tweet, Rockstar Games acknowledged the leak and urged people to watch the genuine trailer on their official YouTube channel, stating, “Our trailer has leaked, so please watch the real thing on YouTube.”

The GTA VI trailer substantiates two prominent rumors. Firstly, it brings the GTA Vice City map to life. Secondly, the game features a female protagonist and incorporates elements inspired by Bonnie and Clyde.

In the trailer, the female protagonist, Lucia, asserts, “The only way this is going to work is if we stay together.” The footage commences with scenic shots of the map during sunset, evoking nostalgia for GTA Vice City’s iconic sunsets. The trailer then introduces Lucia, a fugitive, and showcases the well-known Vice City beach with yachts, boats, and realistic water textures that resemble a movie rather than a game.

Throughout the trailer, there are moments that give the impression of watching a preview for an upcoming Hollywood film, whether capturing a woman posing for a picture or people strolling on the beach.

Contrary to earlier rumors suggesting a 2024 release, Rockstar Games revealed at the end of the trailer that GTA VI is set to launch in 2025. Players will have to wait for over a year (possibly two, if the release is towards the end of 2025) to immerse themselves in the world of GTA VI.

Rockstar Games had announced the trailer release last month, commemorating the company’s 25th anniversary in December. The statement expressed gratitude for the opportunity to create games they are passionate about and acknowledged the essential role played by their dedicated community of players.
