Users can exert control over who can initiate calls by configuring their Direct Messaging settings. By default, calls can be received from individuals you follow or those in your address book. However, there is a condition: to initiate a call, both you and the recipient must have exchanged at least one Direct Message with each other.

- Open your direct messages.
- Choose an existing chat or commence a new conversation.
- Click on the phone symbol.
- Opt for either an ‘Audio call’ or ‘Video call’ by tapping the corresponding icons.
Once you initiate a call, the recipient will receive a notification. If the call goes unanswered, they will still receive a notification about the missed call.
