Last month, Honor made a significant comeback in the Indian market with the launch of the Honor 90, marking its return after a three-year hiatus. Moreover, the company is on the verge of unveiling another product in India, and the anticipation of Honor’s debut in the foldable smartphone segment in India is also gaining momentum.

HTech CEO Madhav Sheth, during an interview, revealed that Honor’s next smartphone launch in India is slated for the end of this year. Furthermore, the company has ambitious plans to introduce a foldable smartphone to the Indian market by the first half of 2024. This move positions Honor to compete with other players in the Indian foldable smartphone arena, including Google Pixel Fold, Tecno Phantom V Fold, and Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 5, among others.

Sheth also provided insights into Honor’s foldable phone strategy, noting that while the company has already launched foldable phones like the Honor Magic VS2, Magic V2, and the Magic V Purse globally, it is yet to make its mark in the Indian foldable phone market. Now that Honor has re-established its presence in the Indian market with the Honor 90, there is growing interest in the company’s future plans for India.

In the same interview with Financial Express, Sheth disclosed that they are aiming to launch “at least one foldable product by the first half of 2024.” He highlighted the company’s commitment to delivering innovative and attractive foldable phones, especially in the USD 1000-USD 2000 price range, where consumers seek to stand out. Honor is diligently shaping its product roadmap, which will be finalized soon.

Regarding the Honor 90, which signified Honor’s return to India, the smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 Accelerated edition. It boasts a slim profile, measuring 161.9mm in height, 74.1mm in width, and a mere 7.8mm in depth. Despite its sleek design, it houses a robust 5000mAh battery that supports rapid charging with up to 66W SuperCharge.

In the camera department, the phone features a remarkable 200-megapixel primary rear camera and a 50-megapixel front camera for high-quality selfies. The device comes equipped with a 6.7-inch 1.5K quad-curved AMOLED display, offering a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz and a peak brightness of up to 1600 nits, ensuring a comfortable viewing experience even in bright sunlight.
