The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially announced changes to the negative marking scheme for the upcoming Junior Engineer (Civil, Mechanical & Electrical) Examination in 2023. According to the new rules, for Paper 1, there will be a deduction of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer, while for Paper 2, 1 mark will be subtracted for every wrong response. This marks a departure from the previous system, where negative marking was set at one-third of the total marks allocated to each question in both papers.
