Over 100 deaths reported allover India due to heavy rain and floods

The heavy rainfall in north India resulted in a significant increase in the death toll, with an additional 20 fatalities reported on Tuesday. This brings the total number of deaths to over 100. Himachal Pradesh alone accounted for 31 deaths, while the state has recorded a total of 80 deaths during this monsoon season. In Uttarakhand, five deaths were reported, and Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and Rajasthan each reported one death due to this heavy rain.

The heavy rains also caused widespread flooding in several states, including Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan. The flooding resulted in extensive damage to infrastructure and disruptions in essential services. In Delhi, the water level of the Yamuna River crossed the danger mark of 206 meters, leading to the evacuation of residents in flood-prone areas and the closure of the Old Railway Bridge for road.
