WhatsApp Introduces Latest Pin Message Feature, Allowing Users to Highlight Important Messages in Group and Individual Chats.

Meta announced on Tuesday a new pin message feature for WhatsApp, available across Android, iOS, and PC platforms. This feature allows users to pin a specific message at the top of a chat, mirroring the functionality of pinning chats in the home window.

WhatsApp highlights that pinned messages can be applied in both group and individual chats, aiming to enhance efficiency by facilitating the quick retrieval of important messages. Notably, all message types, including text, polls, images, emojis, and more, can be pinned while maintaining end-to-end encryption.

The pin message feature involves a few key aspects. Pinned messages in WhatsApp remain fixed in the home window, but users can set a duration for how long a message stays pinned in the chat pin window. The available durations include 24 hours, 7 days (default), or 30 days. Admins in group chats can control who has the ability to pin messages, either granting the privilege to everyone or restricting it to admins.

It’s important to mention that if a user doesn’t manually unpin a message, it automatically unpins after the set duration expires. Unpinning merely removes the message from the banner at the top of the chat, returning it to its original position in the conversation without altering its content or accessibility. This functionality allows users to keep important information easily accessible while maintaining an organized chat experience.

For those interested in using the pin message feature, here’s a step-by-step guide across different platforms:
