OnePlus Foldable Smartphone Graces Anushka Sharma’s Possession Prior to Its India Launch

Bollywood Star Anushka Sharma Teases OnePlus’ Upcoming Foldable Smartphone, the OnePlus Open, in Viral Video Ahead of Anticipated Indian Debut

In a recently viral video, Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma was spotted using a yet-to-be-announced smartphone in India. Keen-eyed tech experts on Twitter, known as X, quickly identified the device as the upcoming OnePlus Open, the company’s inaugural foldable phone. While rumors had circulated about the impending launch of this foldable phone, it remained uncertain whether it would make its debut in the Indian market.

Sharma’s video was initially captured by Bollywood photographer Viral Bhayani but gained traction on X (Twitter) after being reposted by the well-known tipster Onleaks. Onleaks confirmed that the phone in Sharma’s possession was indeed the OnePlus Open, not an ordinary device.

In the video, Anushka Sharma can be seen using the phone in a public setting, attracting the attention of bystanders. Inside the car, the distinct OnePlus design was unmistakable. Notably, the phone featured a prominent camera array, a signature OnePlus design element. Anushka Sharma’s deliberate and slow-motion unfolding of the device left no room for doubt that it was the OnePlus Open she was showcasing.

The OnePlus Open foldable phone appeared notably sizeable, and earlier rumors had suggested it might follow a design similar to the Pixel Fold or Find N2 rather than emulating the Galaxy Z Fold 5. However, it’s worth noting that the video does not definitively confirm this design aspect.

Rumors surrounding the OnePlus Open’s specifications indicated it would be powered by the high-performance octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. The device was expected to feature a spacious 7.8-inch 2K AMOLED primary screen with an impressive 120Hz refresh rate, complemented by a 6.3-inch AMOLED cover display. The camera setup was anticipated to include a 50-megapixel lens with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 48-megapixel wide-angle lens, and a 32-megapixel periscope lens on the rear, possibly supporting 3x optical zoom. For selfie enthusiasts, dual 32-megapixel front-facing cameras were also hinted at, based on leaks.
