A potential revamp of the WhatsApp Android app may bring a new interface, highlighted by a prominent white top app bar, as suggested by a beta update

The forthcoming WhatsApp Beta for Android Update, version, is anticipated to usher in this fresh interface.

WhatsApp is reportedly in the process of developing a fresh interface for its Android application, aiming to enhance user experience. According to reports, this design adjustment, overseen by Meta, the parent company of WhatsApp, focuses on refining the top app bar and various UI elements. In this new design, the top bar adopts a white color scheme, while other UI elements are presented in a green hue. This revamped WhatsApp design has been identified within the WhatsApp for Android beta version, accessible through the Google Play Beta program. Nevertheless, it’s important to note that this new interface isn’t yet visible to all beta testers. Notably, WhatsApp has recently introduced support for sending HD photos and videos.

As reported by WhatsApp features tracker WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is actively working on this updated interface for its Android application. The redesigned interface was initially detected in the beta version for Android, which is accessible through the Google Play Beta program. However, it’s crucial to emphasize that this new interface is still in the development stage and isn’t visible to all beta testers. A screenshot accompanying the report showcases the new design, with the top app bar appearing in white and other UI elements, including the app name, presented in green. Additionally, the navigation bar has been relocated to the bottom of the app. This WhatsApp redesign seems to align with Google’s latest Material Design 3 guidelines.

WhatsApp’s upgraded user interface for Android is anticipated to be introduced in a future update, possibly undergoing further refinements before the final release. Furthermore, reports suggest that WhatsApp is also working on redesigning its iOS app. According to WABetaInfo, these changes have been observed in the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS version update available through the TestFlight app.

In addition to these interface improvements, WhatsApp has recently introduced the capability to send HD videos via a new toggle in the app. This feature enhancement comes alongside support for sharing high-resolution images. With the WhatsApp for Android update, users can now share videos in 720p resolution, surpassing the previous standard of 480p resolution.
