WhatsApp has recently unveiled a fresh capability for sending video messages. Now, it seems that the Meta-owned platform is actively working on an additional feature that will bring about a change to the app’s user interface. According to a report circulating online, WhatsApp is currently rolling out a novel interface for call notifications. This latest development has been introduced to Android beta testers, as revealed by WABetaInfo, the renowned source for WhatsApp updates.

The experimental update, version 2.23.16.14, brings about a noticeable alteration in the call notifications interface. When users receive an incoming call, they will encounter buttons with icons, making it more intuitive to comprehend the functions of each button. This design change aims to enhance the user experience and streamline call handling.

As of now, the new call notifications interface is exclusively available to a select group of beta testers. However, it is expected to be released to all WhatsApp users in the near future.

Lately, Meta made a significant move by launching a dedicated WhatsApp application exclusively for smartwatches operating on Google’s Wear OS platform. This innovative app allows users to effortlessly respond to messages and make Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) calls directly from their smartwatches. Interestingly, this eliminates the necessity of maintaining a constant connection between their smartphones and watches. Apart from enabling seamless text and emoji exchanges, this app empowers users to instantly send pre-defined responses and create voice messages using their wrist-worn gadgets. The independent WhatsApp app, specifically designed for Wear OS, was officially unveiled during Google’s annual developer conference, I/O 2023, held in May.
