In a major boost for engineering aspirants across India, Google has introduced free full-length JEE Main mock tests on Google Gemini, expanding its AI-powered exam preparation tools. The announcement comes just a day after Google rolled out free SAT practice tests for students aiming to pursue higher education in the United States, highlighting the tech giant’s growing focus on global education support.

The initiative was officially unveiled at the India AI Summit 2026, where Google revealed partnerships with leading Indian education platforms Careers360 and Physics Wallah to provide high-quality JEE preparation resources at no cost.

Free JEE Main Mock Tests on Google Gemini

With millions of students preparing for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) each year to secure admission into prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and other top engineering colleges, the availability of free, AI-driven mock tests is expected to significantly enhance exam readiness.

“Building on last week’s announcement of practice SATs in Gemini, you can now also take full-length mock JEE Main tests in Gemini at no cost,” Google’s official Gemini account posted on X (formerly Twitter).

The new JEE mock test feature allows aspirants to attempt full-length exams that closely match the actual JEE Main paper pattern and difficulty level. Students can evaluate their performance, identify weak areas, and refine their preparation strategy based on detailed feedback.

How Google Gemini JEE Preparation Works

Similar to its SAT preparation tools, Google Gemini’s JEE mock tests are designed to simulate real exam conditions. The AI-powered system provides questions aligned with the latest JEE Main syllabus and structure, helping students become familiar with time management and question types.

One of the standout features is Gemini’s ability to explain concepts step by step. If students struggle with a particular problem, they can ask Gemini for clarification, and the AI will point out errors in solutions, offer alternative approaches, and reinforce key concepts.

The mock tests are also available in multiple Indian languages, making them accessible to students from diverse educational backgrounds and regions.

Rising Use of AI Tools for Competitive Exams

With AI tools like Google Gemini and ChatGPT increasingly becoming part of students’ daily study routines, Google’s latest move reflects a broader trend of integrating artificial intelligence into competitive exam preparation. The company believes personalised, interactive learning can improve outcomes by encouraging active engagement rather than rote memorisation.

India Leads Global Gemini Usage for Learning

During the announcement, Google highlighted that India currently tops global daily usage of Gemini for learning purposes. Students across the country are actively using features such as guided learning, quizzes, flashcards and study guides, particularly for STEM subjects and advanced physics.

Google also noted India’s strong adoption of NotebookLM, another AI-powered learning tool. In the past month alone, Indian users have generated over three million outputs, including quizzes, flashcards, audio overviews and video summaries.

Educators are also benefiting from Google’s ecosystem. Teachers across India are using Google Classroom to streamline lesson planning, manage coursework and even create risk assessments for school trips.

Google’s Vision for AI in Education

“India is home to power users who are embracing multimodal, multilingual and deep learning,” said Chris Phillips, Vice President, Education, Google. “We are seeing this reflected in products like Gemini.”

He added that Google aims to improve learning outcomes by scaling personalised and active learning, grounded in the science of education. “By collaborating closely with the education ecosystem, we want to foster critical thinking and strengthen the connection between teachers and learners,” Phillips said.

With the launch of free JEE Main mock tests on Google Gemini, engineering aspirants now have access to advanced, AI-driven preparation tools—potentially transforming how students prepare for one of India’s toughest entrance examinations.
